DILLON -- Michael Haverfield hit a 3-pointer from the right wing with 1.2 seconds left to lift Montana Western to a 77-74 Frontier Conference men's basketball win over Rocky Mountain College at Straugh Gymnasium on Saturday.

The Bulldogs held a seven-point lead with two minutes left, but the Battlin' Bears clawed their way back and tied the game with 5.5 seconds left on a deep 3 from Darius Henderson. Western's Jamal Stephenson then took the inbound pass and sprinted up the floor and found Haverfield, who hit the dagger.

Haverfield finished with six points, all coming on 3-pointers. Stephenson had a team-high 22 points to go along with four rebounds, three assists, two steals and a block. Max Clark (17 points) and Jalen Hodges (14) also finished in double figures for the Bulldogs, who snapped a seven-game losing streak with the win.

The Bears got a double-double from Nick Hart, who scored a game-high 26 points and pulled down 12 rebounds. Henderson (13 points), Maxim Stephans (12) and Kevin Fassu (12) also finished in double digits for Rocky.

Rocky has now lost nine consecutive games, its last win coming on Jan. 5 against Western.

Western (4-9 overall, 4-9 Frontier) and Rocky (1-10, 1-10) will meet again at 2 p.m. Sunday. This weekend's scheduled women's games between the two schools were canceled.
