BUTTE -- Montana Tech head women’s basketball coach Carly Sanon has announced the signing of Helena High’s McKayla Kloker. Kloker is Montana Tech’s first signee for the 2020 recruiting class.

Kloker, a senior at Helena High, played a key role in Helena High’s second state championship as a sophomore before suffering a knee injury during her junior season. As a sophomore on her way to earning honorable mention all-tournament, Kloker averaged 6.7 points per game, shooting 46 percent from the field and 46 percent from three

“McKayla comes from a very successful Helena High program and knows how to win. McKayla impacts the game on both ends of the court. She is a lights out three point shooter and has a scorer's mentality,” said Sanon. “She plays very hard and is a tenacious defender. She is a great addition to our program.”

Kloker’s Helena High Bengal program has won the last three class AA state championships. The Bengals won their most recent state championship in Butte this past March.

“During the recruiting process, I was able to visit campus a couple of times. The more I was around the coaches, players and people on campus it was clear that Tech had a lot to offer and would be a great fit for me,” said Kloker.

Kloker plans on majoring in Nursing next fall at Montana Tech.
