WHITEFISH – The Frontier Conference announced its indoor track and field athletes of the week on Monday.
Garrett Kocab of Carroll College is the men's field athlete of the week and Jackson Wilson of Rocky Mountain College is the men's track athlete of the week. Becca Richtman of Montana Tech and Shae Helterbran of Carroll are the women's track and field athletes of the week, respectively. All four athletes competed at the Stinger Open hosted by Black Hills State in Spearfish, S.D.
Kocab, junior from Phelan, Calif., took first in the shot put in a field of 20 entrants with a throw of 15.04 meters.
Wilson, a sophomore from Box Elder, S.D., finished first in the 3,000-meter run and ran the 1,600-meter leg of the distance medley relay. His altitude-adjusted time of 8:28.58 in the 3,000-meter is a personal best and a new Rocky school record.
Helterbran, a junior from Billings, finished fourth in the pole vault with a vault of 3.53 meters.
Richtman, a senior from Elburn, Ill., finished second in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 10:03.42. Her time was the second-fastest time in the NAIA.
