Frontier Conference recognizes football, volleyball players of the week

WHITEFISH — The Frontier Conference announced its football and volleyball players of the week on Monday, recognizing student-athletes from College of Idaho, Eastern Oregon, MSU-Northern, Rocky Mountain College and Providence.

Sadie Lott, a 5-foot-9 freshman middle blocker at Providence, was named the volleyball attacker of the week. The No. 20-ranked Argos went 2-0 in their weekend road series against Montana Tech, winning 3-2 on Friday and 3-0 on Saturday. Lott averaged four kills per set with an attack percentage of .242. She also averaged 3.88 digs per set.

MSU-Northern's Shania Neubauer, a 5-9 senior outside hitter from Belgrade, is the volleyball defender of the week. MSU-Northern went 1-1 in its weekend home series against Carroll College. The Skylights lost 3-0 on Friday and won 3-1 on Saturday. Neubauer averaged 7.29 digs per set.

Rocky Mountain College senior setter Natalie Hilderman is the volleyball setter of the week. A 6-1 senior from Red Lodge, Hilderman helped No. 17 Rocky Mountain College go 2-0 in its weekend home series against Montana Western, earning sweeps on both Friday and Saturday. Hilderman averaged 12 assists and 2.50 digs per set.

Taeson Hardin, a 6-0, 180-pound junior defensive back at College of Idaho, is the Frontier's football defensive player of the week. In No. 5 College of Idaho’s 10-3 win over Rocky Mountain College, Hardin recorded six solo tackles, three assisted tackles, two pass breakups and one forced fumble. His forced fumble led to C of I’s go-ahead touchdown in the fourth quarter.

Eastern Oregon quarterback Kai Quinn is the football offensive player of the week. The 6-0, 220-pound senior from Pendleton, Ore., was 16 of 28 passing for 216 yards and one touchdown in Eastern’s 28-0 season-opening win over Carroll College. He also rushed for 15 yards on six carries. The win was Eastern’s sixth straight over Carroll dating back to 2015.

Eastern Oregon also had the special teams player of the week in senior kicker Jaiden Machuca. Machuca was a perfect 4 for 4 on point-after tries and averaged 46.2 yards per punt. Two punts landed inside the 20-yard line.
