WHITEFISH -- Frontier Conference commissioner Kent Paulson announced changes to the 2020 fall sports schedules on Monday. The conference, specifically football and volleyball, will have a short delay to starting the season and a reduction to the number of contests.
This is based on the changes the NAIA Council of Presidents announced on June 4 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Frontier Conference athletic directors, presidents and chancellors approved the conference changes released on Monday.
The conference football schedule will be an eight-week, eight-game schedule beginning on Sept. 12, 2020. A bye week will be included following the first four games of the season. The conference volleyball schedule will be a 10-week, 20-game schedule beginning on Sept. 5, 2020.
Cross country and golf schedules already fit into those NAIA guidelines so no schedule modifications were necessary in those two sports.
Fall sport student-athletes can report for preseason training on Aug. 15.
At this time all post-season competition for NAIA fall sports are set for the original scheduled date.
