HELENA -- The Providence Argos will make the trip down to Helena on Jan. 11 to take on the Carroll College Fighting Saints. With the Argos comes Zaccheus Darko-Kelly, who is leading the Argos with 21 points a game, knocking down 49 percent of his shots from 3-point range and averages a little over the two steals a game.
A player of Darko-Kelly's caliber can wreak havoc on both sides of the ball and Carroll College head coach Kurt Paulson knows it has to be a team effort to contain him.
"He anticipates well, so you've just always got to be aware of him and his athleticism," said Paulson. "He anticipates on defense so well and shooting the ball tremendous from three, and then his athleticism gives him the ability to get to the rim and up around the rim. So, I'm not sure you can guard him with one guy. Youu got to have a team defensive plan and that that will be us."
The Argos come into the contest ranked No. 7 in the NAIA, and undefeated on the season at 15-0. Carroll College is currently ranked No. 23 and Paulson said if his team can limit the Argos' opportunities to break out in transition, it would go a long way to help secure a win.
"You want to take care of the ball and limit their chances of getting out and using their athleticism in the open court. We do a good job of that, so hopefully our guys will just handle their pressure and, and defend our home court and play well," said Paulson.
The Argos and the Fighting Saints will square off in a top-25 match up on Jan. 11 at 7:30 p.m.
