HELENA -- Carroll College volleyball player Jenna Starke was selected as a CoSIDA academic all-American, the organization announced.

Starke was selected to the second team and is the first Saints volleyball player to ever receive the award.

The 2019 academic all-American volleyball teams, selected by CoSIDA, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CoSIDA academic all-America program separately recognizes volleyball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

Starke has been a strong contributor each season with the Saints, and carried a 4.0 GPA all along the way. Her commitment to the community, through hours of volunteer work, and her various dedications beyond Carroll athletics and academics make her one of the most accomplished award winners.

Votes by members of CoSIDA propelled her to the honor and will determine if she becomes an academic all-American.
