WHITEFISH – Student-athletes from Carroll College and Rocky Mountain College were named the Frontier Conference indoor track and field athletes of the week.
Carroll's Josh Malone and Nikki Krueger were selected as the men's and women's field athletes of the week, while Rocky's Joseph Vanden Bos and Kendra Dykstra Munsterman were tabbed the men's and women's track athletes of the week.
Malone, a senior from Missoula, placed second in the heptathalon at the Blue Hawk Classic meet hosted by Dickinson State in Dickinson, N.D. Krueger, a junior from Kalispell, won the women’s shot put with a throw of 14.22 meters at the the same meet.
Rocky's athletes also competed at the Blue Hawk Classic, where Vanden Bos, a junior from Kalispell, won the 800-meter run in 1 minute, 59.55 seconds and ran legs on Rocky’s first-place 4x400 and second-place 4x800 relay teams. Munsterman, a senior from Rapid City, S.D., recorded three-first place finishes, including a win in the 800-meter with a school-record time of 2:15.81. She also ran legs on both of Rocky's winning 4x400 and 4x800 relay teams.
