WHITEFISH -- Carroll College sophomore guard Jovan Sljivancanin was named the Frontier Conference men's basketball player of the week, the league announced on Monday.

The sophomore guard from Belrade, Serbia led the Fighting Saints to a 2-0 mark last week, including a 79-58 win over NAIA Division II Southern Oregon, which is ranked No. 18 in its division, as well as an 89-72 victory over Eastern Oregon. Sljivancanini averaged 22.5 points, 9.5 rebounds, two assists and 1.5 steals in the wins, hitting 18 of 34 shots, including 6-of-10 shooting behind the 3-point line.

Sljivancanin and Carroll are currently receiving votes in the NAIA men's basketball coaches' poll. Carroll faces Walla Walla in College Place, Wash. on Nov. 14. The Fighting Saints don't return home until Nov. 30 for a contest against Whitworth.
