LEWISTON, Idaho -- The Carroll College women's golf team placed fifth while the men finished sixth at the Warrior Invitational on Tuesday in Lewiston, Idaho.
The event was played at the Lewiston Golf and Country Club.
The Saints women shot 680 as a team.
"Challenged the girls before the tournament to beat Tech and pass them in the regular-season standings and they delivered to grab third," Saints coach BenMacIntyre said.
Cailin Spencer led the Saints, shooting a two-round total of 164. She finished her tournament out with an 81 to place 15th overall.
Caroline Hobson placed 21st overall, shooting a 170 over her two rounds. She fired an 86 and an 84.
Katie Fagg finished in a tie for 22nd, totaling 172.
Weslee Nehl fired a 95 to open up the tournament, but shaved off 12 strokes on Tuesday to shoot an 83, for a grand total of 178 and 30th place.
Sydnee Nowlen shot a 184 to tie for 32nd.
On the men's side, senior Joseph Potkonjak and freshman Connor Mora led the way, firing three-round totals of 229. Potkonjak saved his best for last with a round of 74 to close out the tournament. Mora was steady throughout the tournament, firing 76-76-77. They both tied for 18th.
"Joseph had a consistent fall season for us and a solid plus-two on the day to finish out the tournament," MacIntyre said.
Added MacIntyre said "Mora had a good tournament and showed flashes of what he can do. Look forward to watching him and Katie Fagg on the women's side develop and become leaders in our program."
Josh Neth tied for 29th after firing a 233 over three rounds. Neth went 75-79-79.
Samuel Berry rounded out Carroll's scoring with a 239 to finish in a tie for 36th
All the guys shot rounds in the 70s today and it is something to build off of as we aim to get better ad get after it in the spring season.
This is the final tournament of the fall for the Saints golf team. Spring events are yet to be announced, though the conference tournament will take place April 20-22 in Boise, Idaho.
