LA GRANDE, Ore. -- Eastern Oregon scored two fourth-quarter touchdowns to rally past No. 22-ranked Carroll College 28-26 in Frontier Conference football action Saturday.
The Fighting Saints had a 20-14 lead going to the fourth behind three touchdowns -- one rushing and two passing -- from Devan Bridgewater. Trailing 28-20, Bridgewater led the Carroll offense down the field, capping the drive with his third TD pass of the game with eight seconds left to bring the Saints within 28-26. His pass on the two-point conversion attempt failed, though, and Carroll left with the 28-26 loss.
Bridgewater finished the game 20-of-30 passing for 229 yards and the three touchdowns. He also had the one rushing touchdown. Shane Sipes, Joe Farris and Tony Collins each caught touchdown passes, with Sipes catching seven total balls for 66 yards. Farries had three catches for 69 yards.
Kai Quinn completed 23 of 39 passes for 290 yards and two touchdowns for Eastern Oregon, which also got two rushing scores from Kaler Moore.
The loss drops Carroll College to 6-4, extinguishing whatever dim playoff hopes they had entering Saturday.
Eastern Oregon finishes its season with a 4-7 overall record, including a 4-6 mark in the Frontier.
