WHITEFISH -- Carroll College athletes Kelsey Bassett and Wade Luly were named the Frontier Conference indoor track and field athletes of the week, the league announced on Monday.
Bassett, a sophomore from Granite Falls, Wash., placed third in the pole vault at the 2019 Bobcat Preview meet hosted by Montana State University. Her clearance of 3.5 meters was good enough to hit the NAIA "B" qualifying standard.
Luly won the men's 400-meter dash in a time of 51.30 seconds, while also anchoring Carroll's 400-meter relay team to a first-place finish. The junior from Shelby is back in action with the rest of the Fighting Saints on Jan. 10 at the Snake River Open in Idaho.
