WHITEFISH – Carroll College teammates and Kalispell natives Nikki Krueger and Chad Hemsley were named Frontier Conference athletes of the week on Monday.
Krueger, who won an NAIA national shot put title in the indoor track and field season, is the Frontier Conference's women’s outdoor field athlete of the week. A junior, Krueger won the shot put with a throw of 13.44 meters at the Al Manuel Northwest Invitational in Missoula. Krueger’s winning shot put throw was a NAIA “B” Standard qualifying throw.
Hemsley was selected the Frontier Conference men’s outdoor track athlete of the week. The sophomore took first in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 56:49 seconds at the Al Manuel Northwest Invitational.
