Oredigger volleyball continued their winning streak to start Frontier Conference play defeating Montana Western in straight sets, 25-17, 25-21, 25-16, in Straugh Gymnasium on Thursday night.
The No. 18 Diggers (15-2 overall, 3-0 Frontier Conference) jumped ahead of the Bulldogs early in the match thanks to a strong hitting performance at the net. The Orediggers hit for a .176 clip while Montana Western hit for just .017 percent. Montana Tech registered 44 kills on the evening.
Leading the way for Montana Tech in kills was Karina Mickelson with 14 and Maureen Jessop with 12. McKenna Kaelber knotched 37 assists for the Montana Tech offense. Mickelson and Sabrina Hopcroft each tallied 16 digs in the match.
The Digger volleyball win streak is up to seven games as the Montana Tech travels to Billings to take on Rocky Mountain College on Saturday.
