CORVALLIS, Ore. -- The Corban University women's basketball team continues to end streaks under coach Bill Pilgeram.
Pilgeram, a Plains native and former Carroll College star, guided the Warriors to road wins at The College of Idaho and Eastern Oregon University to start the 2020 Cascade Collegiate Conference seasons. It was the first sweep of those two teams since the 2011 season and the first win at EOU since 2012, according to the conference, which named the Warriors the league's “Under Armour Team of the Week” for Dec. 30-Jan. 5.
The Warriors rallied past COI on Friday, using a 21-5 run at the end of the game to secure the 66-61 win. Jordan Woodvine finished with 19 points on 8-of-22 shooting for the Warriors. She also posted seven rebounds, six assists, two blocks and two steals.
Corban rallied again on Saturday, going on an 11-2 run to get past 18th-ranked EOU, 68-57. The teams were tied at 46-46 entering the fourth quarter before the Warriors' game-clinching run. Woodvine scored a game-high 22 points, and Rayna Pilgeram came off the bench to score nine points.
Corban (10-5 overall, 6-1 CCC) will host Multnomah and Warner Pacific on Jan. 10 and 11.
