KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Both of Montana State University Billings’ soccer teams have earned the Team Academic Award, announced by the United Soccer Coaches.

The award is reserved for teams at all levels that maintain a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher. A total of 889 college teams earned the award, and MSUB was one of 172 schools to have both its men’s and women’s soccer teams recognized.

The Yellowjacket women earned the award for the 18th time in the last 19 years, holding a team GPA of 3.65. On the men’s side, it was the 10th award for the program as the Yellowjackets carried a team mark of 3.22.

MSUB was one of just three women’s programs and four men’s programs in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference to receive the award. Northwest Nazarene University was the only other school in the conference to have both its men’s and women’s teams recognized by the USC.
