BILLINGS - BILLINGS, Mont. – Adding his eighth signing for 2021 on Tuesday, Montana State University Billings men’s soccer head coach Thomas Chameraud announced Jeremie Briquet as the latest future Yellowjacket to join the team.
Briquet joins a cast of seven previous signings for the Yellowjackets for the upcoming season, and is the first junior-college transfer on the list. “We are happy that Jeremie has decided to commit to us,” said Chameraud. “He is a transfer student from Dodge City Community College and will have two years of experience playing at the college level in the U.S. Jeremie is a smart player, and will bring a different profile to our center midfield. He is good on the ball, and his passing qualities are outstanding. He will have to raise his level in order to adapt quickly to the NCAA Div. II level, but with his experience from France and the U.S., I’m sure he can bring quality minutes to us. Jeremie is also a top student, which is important to our program.”
Briquet was last on the field during the 2019 season, playing for Dodge City Community College in Kansas. As a true freshman, Briquet saw action in 13 of the team’s 15 matches coming off the bench. He helped the team to a 10-3-2 overall record and a third-place finish in the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference West Division. His sophomore season in the fall of 2020 was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Prior to his collegiate career, Briquet attended Lycée Jules Ferry in his hometown of Cannes, France. In 2017 Briquet was selected to the Mediterranean Regional Team. “I chose MSUB because I felt it was the place where I would blossom the most both academically and athletically,” said Briquet.
