GLENDIVE - Dawson Community College center Charles Lampten is the Mon-Dak men's basketball player of the week, the league has announced.
The 6'11" sophomore led the Buccaneers to a 3-0 record last week, including two road wins. Lampten had a double- double in each game, shooting 52% from the field and 3-4 from three-point range while scoring 37 points, having 30 rebounds, 3 assists, 4 steals, and 8 blocked shots. Lampten is from Roanoke, Texas and he attended Byron Nelson High School.
Coach Joe Peterson commented, “This honor is well-deserved for Charles. He does many things that show up in the stat sheet, but many others that don’t. He affects the game in so many ways on both ends. The scary thing is that he is just scratching the surface of what he’s capable of!”
Lampten and the Bucs are 5-0 on the season and will return to action with a home game against Rocky Mountain College JV on Thursday at 7:30 before returning to conference action next Monday at home against Williston State College.
