GLENDIVE - Dawson Community College sophomore point guard Tamiya Francis has been named Mon-Dak Women's Basketball Player of the Week, the league announced.
During a 2-0 week, the 5-foot-2 guard scored 54 points while shooting 49% from the field, had 12 rebounds, 6 assists, 4 steals, and shot 86% from the free throw line.
According to NJCAA rankings, Francis ranks No. 6 with the most points and #8 with the most steals. She also is tied for the most steals in a game with 10 in the history of DCC.
The Lady Buccaneers are 14-4 in conference play and 15-4 overall securing a second place standing.
Francis is from Toronto, Ontario where she attended Vaughan Secondary High School.
