GLENDIVE - The Dawson Community College volleyball women had another exciting win on Tuesday night against the Lady Tetons of Williston State College (15-25, 25-16, 23-25, 25-22, 15-10).

After starting off the game slow in the first set, Dawson came back in a dominant fashion in the second. The next two sets were a battle between the two teams, which caused a fifth and final show down. After another slow start in the fifth set to 15, the Lady Bucs found themselves down 7-0, but the Bucs were not ready to roll over. They came back on a 15 to 3 run to finish out the set and match.

Coach Dina Fritz commented, “I am very proud of the team for how they handled themselves these past couple of games. We played two very tough opponents back to back and came out with two hard fought five set wins. The girls showed a lot of tenacity and teamwork over the past couple of days which makes me excited about finishing off these next four regular season games.”

Statistical leaders for the game were Haydin Henschel leading in kills with 24, followed by Nicole Green with 12. Ellie Meeks was the leader in digs with 30, followed by Shelby Fronk with 21, Henschel with 18, Logan Stetzner with 16 and Green with 12. Fronk also was the team leader in aces with 3 and assists with 45. Seeara Wojtczak was the block leader with 2.5 blocks.

The Lady Bucs have a day of rest before they take on Dakota College Bottineau on Thursday and Friday at 7 p.m. both nights.
