GLENDIVE – Dawson Community College is pleased to announce a new partnership with Mid-Rivers Communications in support of the Dawson esports team. Mid-Rivers has generously donated gaming equipment and funds totaling approximately $97,500 to the brand-new Dawson esports team.

The partnership with Mid-Rivers will help attract new student-athletes to DCC and the new eSports program.

“We are very grateful to Mid-Rivers for stepping up and helping with the large up-front cost of creating a new esports program. With their support, the Dawson Community College esports team will be a top-tier competitor right from the start,” said Dawson athletic director Joe Peterson.

The recently donated equipment will also be available to other students on campus as well as people in the community and surrounding region. The team plans to host regular open gaming nights for students and community members to come play games and compete. Dawson also hopes to host other tournaments and events.

“Esports will be a huge addition to DCC. It is one of the fastest growing sports in America and we want to get in during the early stages. I love how it will increase enrollment, but also be a great addition to the college for other students and the community,” said Peterson.

Dawson will also host Mid-Rivers Game Con this fall. Mid-Rivers will support the event with a $7,500 sponsorship. Game Con will feature numerous esports tournaments and a game lounge along with virtual reality games and experiences.
