GLENDIVE - The Mon-Dak women's basketball player of the week is Dawson Community College forward Ashya Klopfenstein, announced by the league this week.
The 6'1" sophomore during a 3-1 week scored 90 points while shooting 53% from the field, had 62 rebounds, 5 assists, 15 steals, and 3 blocked shots.
The Lady Buccaneers are 8-3 in conference play, and 9-3 overall. Klopfenstein has 8 consecutive double doubles. In the NJCAA, she currently ranks nationally 6th in steals, 9th in rebounding and 8th in points.
Ashya is from Howe, Indiana and she attended Westview High School.
