Dawson Returns from Christmas with a Win
The DCC Buccaneers free throw shooting looked like it was still on holiday, but the rest of their game was in mid-season form as the Bucs beat South Mountain Community College 86-66, even though they shot only 10-20 from the charity stripe for the game.
Dawson was hanging onto a 22-21 lead with 8 minutes remaining in the half when they went on a 13-0 run that was spurred by their full-court defense forcing turnovers and converting them into points on the other end. South Mountain took the lead briefly in the second half, but Dawson went on another 12-1 run to go back up by double digits and never looked back. The Bucs won the rebounding battle 43-33 and forced 20 turnovers while only giving it up 10 times themselves.
Four players scored in double figures for Dawson led by Camron Dunfee (6'3 sophomore guard) 20 points. Man Man Baker (6'0 sophomore guard) finished with 17 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Devin Collins (6'5 sophomore forward) had a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds and Kolten Hitt (6'2 sophomore guard) also contributed 12 points.
