Suspects in custody after massive locker room theft during Columbus football game

COLUMBUS — Two suspects are in custody following a Friday night theft spree at a Columbus High School football game.

The theft included two vehicles, one of which was found by police in crashed in Forsyth Saturday afternoon as the suspects attempted to flee. They were quickly apprehended and booked into jail.

As of late Saturday afternoon, Columbus police were on their way to Forsyth to search the car with hopes of retrieving some of the stolen items.

Following Friday night's 32-0 win over Three Forks members of the Cougars football team discovered several sets of keys, cell phones, wallets and two cars were missing.

Columbus Police said around 9 p.m. the vehicles, a BMW and an Audi, were stolen from team members. They said that a short time later two individuals were seen inside the Audi at the Zip Trip in Park City, where a stolen credit card was also used to make a purchase.

Authorities are still searching for the black BMW. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Columbus Police Department at 322-5313.
