MISSOULA — Missoula County health officials have released guidelines for high school sporting events as football season gets set to kick off on Friday.
The Missoula City-County Health Department stated that home team players and home cheer squad members may receive two spectator tickets each and only spectators with a ticket may attend the event.
However, in crosstown athletic events where the schools of both teams are from within Missoula County, both teams’ players and cheer squads’ members may receive two spectator tickets.
Class AA football games are limited to 60 people per team or 120 total, counting both home and away sides -- including players, coaches, staff, and volunteers.
Meanwhile, Class A, Class B, 8-Man and 6-Man football games are limited to 45 people per team or side -- including players, coaches, staff, and volunteers.
Players will be required to wear a cloth face covering except when in play on the field and coaches and staff must wear a mask at all times. Further, six-foot distancing shall be maintained on the bench and sidelines except during necessary interaction by coaches and staff.
There will also be no concessions and no halftime activities -- including marching band -- allowed at the games. Schools also will not be allowed to host away team spectators for football and fans ages 5 and older must wear a cloth face covering at all times.
