BILLINGS -- Junior Bergen and Jacob Miller helped Billings Senior rack up 348 rushing yards on Friday against Great Falls High as the Broncs improved to 2-0 with a 28-14 Eastern AA football win at Daylis Stadium.
After Ryan Krahe scored on a 23-yard touchdown run in the first quarter to give the Bison a 7-0 lead, the Broncs scored 28 unanswered points to pull away for the impressive win. During the scoring onslaught, Bergen ran for two touchdowns in the first quarter and passed for two more -- both to Jacksen Burckley -- in the second. Senior led 28-7 at halftime.
Great Falls High got back within two scores in the third quarter on a touchdown pass from Reed Harris to Bridger Polk, but neither offense was able to put points on the board the rest of the game.
Bergen, who had a hand in four touchdowns in Senior's season-opening win over Bozeman last week, had another stellar performance Friday. He finished with 148 yards rushing on 13 carries and was 10-of-17 passing for another 140 yards. Burckley was again his favorite target, catching six passes for 104 yards and the two aforementioned touchdowns.
Miller toted the ball 27 times for 135 yards as Senior out-gained GFH 348-110 on the ground.
Harris finished the game with 74 rushing yards and completing 18 of 38 pass attempts for 222 yards and the one touchdown. Both quarterbacks threw one interception on the night. After a four-touchdown performance last week, Great Falls' Levi Torgerson had eight catches for 53 yards against Senior.
