BILLINGS -- Junior Bergen and Oren Nash-Bergen each scored two touchdowns as Billings Senior notched a 41-13 win over Missoula Hellgate in the first round of the Class AA state football playoffs at Wendy's Field at Daylis Stadium Saturday.
Hellgate actually scored first, turning a Senior turnover into a touchdown pass from Rollie Worster to Ian Finch. Senior, though, scored five consecutive touchdowns to take control and secure a spot in the quarterfinal round. Bergen scored his two touchdowns -- one on a 70-yard run and one on a pass from Michael Ohlin -- before making way for Nash-Bergen.
Nash-Bergen found the end zone on two runs in the second quarter to help Senior to a 27-7 halftime advantage. The Broncs sandwiched a Hellgate touchdown in the second half for the final margin.
Senior is now the No. 7 seed in Class AA's re-seeded bracket. The Broncs will face Missoula Sentinel, which defeated Billings Skyview 45-7 in a first-round game Friday, in next week's quarterfinals. The quarterfinal matchups are as follows:
No. 8 Kalispell Glacier at No. 1 Butte
No. 5 Helena Capital at No. 4 Billings West
No. 7 Billings Senior at No. 2 Missoula Sentinel
No. 6 Helena High at No. 3 Bozeman
