BILLINGS — Asher Croy ran for four touchdowns to lead Bozeman to a 58-0 win over Billings Skyview in an Eastern AA football game at Daylis Stadium in Billings on Thursday night.
"We've slowly been progressing every single game, but (the offensive line) was just opening up some really big holes, which definitely makes my job a lit easier," Croy said.
Croy's first touchdown run of the game came from a yard out with less than two minutes left in the first half to give Bozeman a 14-0 lead. The Hawks would carry a 17-0 advantage into halftime.
The third quarter was all Croy and the Hawks. Croy had touchdown runs from 5 and 11 yards to put Bozeman ahead 37-0. His fourth touchdown was a 41-yard jaunt where Croy showcased his speed on the outside.
"Every week (Croy) is becoming more comfortable with our running schemes," Bozeman head coach Levi Wesche said of Croy. "I think as he continues to go through everything and just has more confidence in himself in what we're doing, you're going to see a really, really good running back. I think right now we're just scratching the surface of what he can be."
The Hawks added a blocked punt in the third quarter and a late fourth quarter touchdown to finish the scoring.
Bozeman improves to 3-1 (2-0 Eastern AA) and will host Great Falls High next Friday. Billings Skyview falls to 0-4 (0-2) and will hit the road to face Great Falls CMR next Friday.
