BILLINGS -- The script looked all too familiar for Billings West and Skyview Friday night at Daylis Stadium.
The defending State AA football champion Bears scored on their opening drive of the game and never looked back in a 40-3 win that kept Skyview winless since 2017. West's defense has allowed only 16 points in three games to open the season.
Josh Erbacher hit Neil Daily for a 7-yard touchdown strike with 6:43 left in the first quarter, though the PAT failed. Michael DeLeon added a 10-yard touchdown run, building a 13-0 Bears lead after one.
West went right back to work on a one-play drive when Connor Ryan spun his head around and hauled in a juggling 56-yard touchdown catch down the sideline. That allowed for a 20-3 halftime lead.
Erbacher went to Hunter Morse for a 4-yard strike to make it 27-3. Erbacher then rewarded teammate Taco Dowler for an interception, finding him on a 27-yard score to the third quarter with a 34-3 lead.
West (3-0) travels to Great Falls High next Friday. Skyview (0-3) hosts Bozeman Friday in a 7 p.m. kickoff.
