CHARLO -- Preston Metesh and Avery Metesh each found the end zone twice as the Drummond-Philipsburg football team got a statement win in the 8-Man West on Friday, blitzing previously unbeaten Charlo 46-0.
Preston Metesh, a senior captain, got the scoring started with a 5-yard run in the first quarter. Kade Cutler, the Titans' senior quarterback, then found Ethan Parke, another senior captain, for a 14-yard touchdown to put Drummond-Philipsburg up 12-0 at the end of the first quarter.
Cutler and Preston Metesh each added short rushing touchdowns in the second quarter to make it 24-0 at halftime.
The Titans added three touchdowns after the break, with Avery Metesh accounting for two of those. His first one came on a 14-yard pass from Cutler and his second on an 18-yard run. The Titans converted the two-point conversions on both of those touchdowns to build the lead to 40-0 before Cutler added a 28-yard scoring run for good measure.
Drummond-Philipsburg improved to 4-0 with the win and returns home next week for a game against Seeley-Swan. Charlo is now 4-1 and has an open weekend before returning to the field on Oct. 9 for its Homecoming game against Victor.
