BOZEMAN – The Montana State Bobcats are hosting their first youth golf camps across the Treasure State this summer, and they started at the Cottonwood Golf Course in Bozeman on Tuesday morning.

The event featured instruction from Montana State head golf coach Brittany Basye as well as other golf coaches and even a player appearance. The camp is for golfers of all ages and skill levels, from those who have played for years to those picking up a club for the first time. For MSU golfer Delaney Elliott, she said she loves teaching the youth a game they can play for life and build on.

“I think it’s super important to get young kids into golf early, especially girls. It’s just harder for girls to get the interest level needed to play. But just starting early is so essential, just so you have those fundamentals going into middle school and high school and just get some more golf experience hopefully leading into tournament experience and playing experience,” said Elliott.

The Montana State golf camp will travel to two more locations, Eagle Rock in Billings on Wednesday, July 17 and Old Works in Anaconda on Wednesday, July 24. To find out how to register for the camp, click here.
