Three Montana State Bobcats tabbed preseason all-Americans

BOZEMAN -Three Bobcats landed on the 2019 Hero Sports Preseason FCS All-America Team, announced on Thursday. Junior Troy Andersen is a first team selection at Athlete, senior offensive tackle Mitch Brott made the second team, and running back Isaiah Ifanse was selected to the third team.

Andersen earned Third Team All-America and unanimous First Team All-Big Sky honors as Montana State’s quarterback last season, but enters 2019 likely to split time between running back and linebacker. The Athlete designation acknowledges a player’s ability to impact a game and team in a variety of ways. Andersen rushed for more yards than any previous Big Sky quarterback a season ago. Brott earned 2nd Team All-Big Sky honors last season, and Ifanse was a Hero Sports Freshman All-America and Honorable Mention All-Big Sky after becoming the first MSU freshman to rush for more than 1,000 yards.

Andersen and Brott each enter the 2019 season as Bobcat team captains.

Mitch Brott – 2nd Team OFFENSIVE LINE

Isaiah Ifanse – 3rd Team RUNNING BACK

The University of Montana also earned a few selections by HERO Sports. Linebackers Dante Olsen and Jace Lewis both made the First Team, defensive back Robby Hauck earned Second Team honors, and wide receiver Samuel Akem landed on the Third Team.
