Montana State Bobcats learning to step up on offense in crucial road wins

BOZEMAN — It’s no question that losing forward Claire Lundberg a few weeks ago has been a challenge for the Montana State women’s basketball team.

While wins on the road at Eastern Washington and Montana this month have been a huge confidence booster for the squad, head coach Tricia Binford can’t help but notice her team adapting to the balance it takes to make up for the offensive output Lundberg contributed.

“Just getting a road victory, period, is really important, but also just the mentality it takes, getting ready to go and locked in,” she said on Tuesday.

“I thought we had a great start. That was a really important key, as well, is coming off to a great start, setting a tone on both ends of the floor,” she said. “What I think that we’re seeing is everyone else is starting to step up, understanding that we don’t have that 15-20 points that you’re relying out of one person, so I think everybody knows that their roles are super important as far as what they bring to the table.”
