LOGAN, Utah — The Montana State University hockey team returned from the Mountain West League Playoffs in Logan, Utah after losses to two top-15 teams.

The Bobcats fell 6-1 to Utah State University in the first game of the postseason. Ryan Perius had the lone goal for the Bobcats.

Weber State would hand Montana State a 7-2 loss in the next game. Jay Forbes would net both Montana State goals in the contest.

“We had a tough weekend in Logan. Quite frankly, we didn’t coach well enough, and we didn’t play very well,” said MSU head coach Dave Weaver. “We dealt with a lot of adversity throughout the two games, with two players breaking skates and three other players going down with the flu. Nonetheless, we did not get the job done. We will learn from this adversity and we will finish the season strong.”

The Bobcats can still compete in regionals if they finish in the top 11. Right now, they sit right at 11th.
