MISSOULA – While the Montana Grizzlies signed only three new football players Wednesday, the Montana State Bobcats ended the day with 15 new players.

One of those new signees was stolen right out of UM’s backyard. Missoula Sentinel quarterback and safety Rylan Ortt signed to MSU alongside Spartans teammates Beau King, who will play at Montana Tech, and Brendan Hill, who will play baseball at Wenatchee Valley College in Washington.

Ortt says he’s excited to get to work in Bozeman and focus on just one side of the ball.

“Division I football, I’ve always wanted to play at a high-level, and they wanted me, so I wanted to go there,” Ortt said. “I wanted to be where I was wanted. It’s nice just to be able to focus on one thing and really honing your skills. I just like safety, you get to fly around the field and make plays, so it should be fun.”
