BOZEMAN — Roots run deep and passion runs high when it comes to Cat-Griz in the state of Montana. Many have grown up their entire lives born into Bobcat families or wearing the Maroon and Silver, but for those who come from out of state, the scale of the rivalry comes as a shock.
For the Montana State women’s basketball team, transfers Claire Lundberg and Martha Kuderer, who came to Bozeman as transfers from Seton Hall, will get their first taste of the rivalry.
They are ready to lace up the shoes and participate in one of the best rivalries in the country.
“I did actually go to the game in Missoula last year,” said Kuderer, a junior forward for Montana State. “I was at the game, I just couldn’t play. But it was a crazy atmosphere, probably one of the loudest buildings I’ve been in, and I’m really excited to be a part of it and play in it.”
Kuderer will be get her first taste of the Cat-Griz rivalry when Montana State hosts Montana on Saturday at 2 p.m.
