BOZEMAN —
The Montana State University hockey team completed a sweep of its weekend opponents in its most recent home stand this past weekend.

Thursday saw a 4-3 overtime win over the top 20-ranked University of Providence Argos, which the Bobcats then followed up on Saturday with a tight 3-2 win over the 17th-ranked Eastern Washington Eagles in front of a near-capacity crowd. Goals from Ryan Padden, Orion Herman, and Connor Stefan rounded out the scoring from the Bobcats.

“Good teams find ways to win, and that is what we’re doing right now,” said Padden. “From top to bottom, everyone has been doing their job, and it’s been really fun with the group of guys we have this year.”

On Sunday, the Bobcats clipped the Eagles with a 5-2 win. Ross Hanson led the Cats with two goals, while Ryan Perius, Padden and Stefan each netted a goal each.

“I was very proud of how our team played this weekend,” said head coach Dave Weaver. “Beating a tough Providence team in OT and beating eastern Washington twice is a great accomplishment.”

The Bobcats’ next game will be against Providence on Feb. 2. For more info, check out the MSU hockey website at msuhockey.com.
