BOZEMAN – The Montana State women’s basketball team is hitting the road for a cool trip. On Friday the team will be playing in the Preseason WNIT.

The tournament brings some of the top teams in the nation together to play against each other, including No. 25 Miami, Auburn and MSU’s first opponent, No. 19 Marquette. The Bobcats are excited to see some top talent across the country.

“It’s the first time in history that Montana State has been invited to the Preseason WNIT,” said Julian Assibey, an assistant coach on the Montana State women’s basketball staff. “We have to go on the road, actually we leave (Thursday) morning to Milwaukee to play Marquette, who’s ranked No. 9 in the country. So it’s going to be really fun for us to play nationally ranked and get Montana State women’s basketball in front of the nation, so it’ll be really cool.”

It’s the 25th year of the tournament’s existence and the Bobcats will play three games on the trip.
