BOZEMAN — The Montana State Bobcats opened their basketball seasons Tuesday with a doubleheader against the Montana Western Bulldogs.

In the women’s basketball team’s first appearance, the Bobcats beat the Bulldogs 79-60. The dominant performance offered playing opportunities for many of the Bobcats, but the most impressive players were transfers Claire Lundberg and Martha Kuderer. Both players scored in double digits against the Bulldogs and pulled eight rebounds combined.

On the men’s side, the Bobcats came out slow but defeated the Bulldogs 90-75. However, late in the first half, Tyler Hall went down with an injury and did not return to the game. Harold Frey led MSU’s scoring with 20 points.
