BOZEMAN — The Montana State volleyball team is making strides every game. They’ve won two of their past three matches and are 3-5 overall in the Big Sky Conference.

But the record doesn’t matter to head coach Daniel Jones as much as the sacrifice his athletes make.

“We love this game and it’s a beautiful game, but to be good, to be really good like we’re trying to be, any coach at Division I, II, III, any coach that’s competitive will tell you these athletes have to make a lot of sacrifices,” Jones said in his weekly press conference on Monday.

He was referring to his emotions after winning in five sets on Saturday against Eastern Washington.

“The pride that I have leading them and what they do when I ask them to do it, even when they’re not capable of it sometimes, is pretty incredible, so I’m grateful for this,” Jones finished.

The Bobcats begin a two-game road trip Thursday at Sacramento State and Portland State before returning home to Shroyer Gym on Oct. 23 versus Montana.
