BOZEMAN — Montana State announced Sunday that Bobcats football coach Jeff Choate would miss his regularly scheduled media availability on Monday.

Choate provided clarity on Monday, distributing a state through the university.

“When our team returned to Bozeman early Sunday morning I underwent a procedure for a medical condition that arose over the weekend,” Choate’s statement read. “I’m fortunate they caught it when they did, and I’m thankful for the care by the professionals at Bozeman Health, our team physician, and our athletic training staff. I also appreciate all the support I received Sunday and Monday, and I look forward to getting back to work.”

The Bobcats returned to Bozeman this week after losing to third-ranked South Dakota State 45-14 on Saturday. MSU totaled just 29 rushing yards against the Jackrabbits, seeing its streak of 42 consecutive games with at least 100 rushing yards snapped.

The Bobcats will try to get back on track in Bozeman this week, hosting Wagner College at Bobcat Stadium at 1 p.m. Saturday.
