BOZEMAN – After Montana State announced Chris Murray would miss the entire 2018 football season on Wednesday, the Bobcats ended the week with some good news. They landed a Treasure State commit to help out of the backfield.
Bozeman running back Joe Olson committed to play for the Bobcats on Thursday. It was an easy decision for the rising senior: Olson committed the same day he received the offer from head coach Jeff Choate and his staff.
The Hawk is an outstanding athlete and has explosive speed from training with the Bozeman track and field team, where he competes in the 110-meter hurdles, the 100-meter dash, and the 400-meter relay. But Olson also is a bruiser in the running game who doesn’t shy away from contact.
Olson still has one more year left at Bozeman before graduating in 2019 to join the Montana State roster. He becomes the second Hawk to commit to MSU this summer, joining tight end teammate Ryan Lonergan.
