MISSOULA – The Montana Grizzlies ended their regular season in style on Friday. UM lacrosse hammered Western Washington on senior night in Washington-Grizzly Stadium, 19-3.
The Vikings and Grizzlies were tied 1-1 in the first period. Montana scored the next five goals to go up 6-1 in the second period. The advantage was 7-3 at halftime.
The Grizzlies blew the game open in the third, out-scoring Western Washington 8-0 in the period. Aidan Larson scored six goals for UM. Senior Peter Sulkanen capped off a perfect night with his first goal of the season.
Montana was scheduled to host Seattle on Saturday afternoon, but the Redhawks forfeited the match. The win over the Vikings and the forfeit makes the Grizzlies 4-0 in the PNCLL north division as the regular season comes to an end.
Missoula will host the PNCLL Conference Championships this year, April 26-28 in Washington-Grizzly Stadium.
