MISSOULA – Montana is coming off the bye week and looking ahead at a tough home challenge against the No. 6 team in the nation.
Saturday is essentially must-win for the Grizzlies if they want a realistic shot at making the playoffs in coach Bobby Hauck’s first year back.
It’ll be a tough challenge with No. 6 UC Davis coming into town looking for its first-ever win in Washington-Grizzly Stadium. Hauck knows UC Davis has a high-powered offense and says it stems from the leadership at the top.
“I don’t know where they’re getting all these guys. Everybody seems to have a multi-year starting senior QB, and you know it really starts with those guys,” Hauck said. “He started a whole bunch of games and they are skilled at wide receiver, they’ve got good running backs, they play well up front, they go fast. So there’s just some things that they do that’ll be hard to get a handle on. Hopefully, we’ll get matched up and slow them down a little bit.”
