SAN FRANCSICO — Former Montana State lineman Mike Person has signed a one-year contract with the San Francisco 49ers, the team announced Wednesday morning. He returns to the Bay Area after the 49ers originally selected the Bobcat offensive tackle in the seventh round of the 2011 NFL Draft.

However, he was inactive throughout the entire 2011 regular season and playoffs. He has since bounced around the league, playing for the Seattle Seahawks, St. Louis Rams, Atlanta Falcons, Indianapolis Colts, and Kansas City Chiefs.

The Glendive native had his big breakout year in 2015 on the Falcons’ offensive line where he played in 14 games, starting in each one. This past season, he spent training camp with the Chiefs before being released the week before the regular season. A month later he signed on with the Colts, who he played for in 2012, and started four games.

During his time at Montana State, Person started all 42 games he played in and earned first-team all-Big Sky Conference honors in his senior year.
