SALT LAKE CITY – The Montana State Bobcats’ lacrosse season came to an end on Tuesday afternoon, losing to North Dakota State 12-6 in the MCLA Division II National Tournament.

The seventh-seeded Bobcats met the Bison before, in the third game of the season, losing 11-5. But MSU came out with a vengeance in the first quarter, wearing NDSU down on offense before scoring the first goal nine minutes into the opening quarter. Montana State led 2-0 after the opening frame.

But North Dakota State showed why it was the No. 2 seed in the second quarter. The Bison tallied six goals before halftime to take a 6-4 lead into the break and then never looked back, blanking the Bobcats in the third while tacking on three more scores.

The season is over for the Cats, who finish the year with a 13-3 record.
