MISSOULA – The Montana Grizzly football team held its eighth practice of the spring Wednesday, with head coach Bobby Hauck returning to Washington-Grizzly Stadium after an eight-year hiatus. The players have been getting to know Hauck, while the coach and the rest of his staff get to know the players and the type of schemes they want to run.

Although the exact style of play hasn’t been set in stone, Hauck was quick to instill his hard-nosed football culture in the locker room. The new man in charge once again said he feels right back at home after his first couple weeks.

“The first day was kind of surreal, because it’s pretty comfortable being back — an old pair of jeans or whatever, just comfortable,” Hauck said. “And it’s been really fun. The other part is, lots of people have come to practice, I’ve reacquainted with some close friends. The enthusiasm has been great, so I would say it’s been awesome to be back.”

The Griz will hold their ninth practice of the preseason on Friday before getting all of next week off for spring break.
