BOZEMAN – Montana State’s 2019 football schedule, an all-Division I slate announced by Director of Athletics Leon Costello on Friday, mixes the flavor of history with a nod to the unique.
The Bobcats play Southeast Missouri and Norfolk State in Bozeman, MSU’s first meeting with either of those opponents, while visiting Western Illinois for the first time since 1993 and Texas Tech for the first time since 1936. In addition, the Bobcats play a conference game against North Dakota, who by then will not be a member of the Big Sky Conference. That game occurs on October 26, and counts in the league standings even though the Fighting Hawks will play that season as an independent transitioning from the Big Sky to the Missouri Valley Conference.
The 2019 Bobcats play three home games in September – Southeast Missouri on September 7, Norfolk State on September 21, and the league opener against NAU on September 28 – and wrap up the season in traditional style, by hosting Montana on November 23. Sacramento State (October 12) and Southern Utah (November 2) also visit Bobcat Stadium.
The Bobcats travel to California twice in 2019, playing at Cal Poly on October 5 and at UC Davis on November 16. MSU also visits Northern Colorado on November 9.
