HELENA -- With only one more holiday left in 2019, the Helena Capital girls basketball team was back to work on Dec. 30 as it prepares for the final non-conference game of the season.
Bruins head coach Katie Garcin-Forba said she's been pleased with the way her team has bounced back on the court after the holiday but knows practice situations and game situations are two completely different things.
"I think it's great for us to be able to have another non-conference game before we get into league, so we can work out some of the kinks a little bit," said Garcin-Forba as her team practiced behind her. "It's nice to play somebody different from the other side, that way it gives us other stuff we can work on, but I think it's just a nice tune-up for us after the Christmas break to have a game that gets us ready to play before we start league play."
The Bruins will be on the road after the ball drops on 2019 -- they'll finish off their non-conference season on Jan. 4 against the Great Falls CMR Rustlers, before heading to Butte to open the Western AA season against the Bulldogs on Jan. 7.
