Montana puts FCS-best six on STATS Perform All-America team; two from Montana State honored

BILLINGS — Six from Montana and two from Montana State were named 2022 STATS Perform FCS All-Americans on Tuesday.

UM safety Robby Hauck was a first-team selection, while linebacker Patrick O'Connell, cornerback Justin Ford, punter Patrick Rohrbach, kickoff returner Malik Flowers and punt returner Junior Bergen were second-team picks for the Grizzlies.

Montana State offensive lineman Rush Reimer and Bobcats linebacker Callahan O'Reilly were named to the third team.

Hauck led the Grizzlies with 118 total tackles in 2022. He had five tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, a pass breakup, a QB hurry and a forced fumble. Hauck finished his career as the Big Sky Conference's all-time tackles leader.

O'Connell finished with 73 total tackles (14 for loss), eight sacks and two interceptions. Ford had two interceptions and five pass breakups. He finished with 34 total tackles and also recovered a fumble.

Rohrbach averaged 45.2 yards on 48 punts with a long of 68 yards. Rohrbach put 18 punts inside the 20-yard line and had 15 boots of 50-plus yards. He was also named to the STATS Perform all-freshman team.

Flowers, UM's all-time leader in kickoff return yardage and the national co-record holder with seven career touchdown returns, average 30.8 yards per kick return in 2022 and had two TDs. Bergen averaged 14.9 yards per punt return and took two back for scores.

Meanwhile, Reimer helped Montana State average 311.9 rushing yards per game, which ranked No. 2 in the nation. MSU's offense averaged 495.1 total yards per game, fourth-most in the FCS.

O'Reilly finished the season with 87 total tackles (six for loss) with three sacks and four interceptions.
